Encoders and CDNs
Dec 6 2007, 4:01 PM EST
We have been exploring various options for streaming and I was hoping some people could offer some insight into what is out there. So far we have looked at EarthChannel, Granicus, and Tightrope Media for hardware encoder options and content delivery network options.

A big part of our situation is that we have money for capital expenditures but not for recurring operations expenses. We are looking at encoder purchases but we would likely still have to partner with a CDN in order to have the capacity to stream to more than a handful of people. All we have currently is one DSL line out of the building. A high bandwidth fiber line would be nearly 14k to install plus still have recurring monthly usage costs.

I would deeply appreciate any input on this. Thanks.
